Engine Bay Restoration
As a result of the paint cracking on the block and heads the decision was made to pull the motor and strip it in 2014. You know how that goes and one thing lead to another so why not just make everything under the hood completely correct?
It's been a three year journey of collecting all the right parts but I can finally now say it's complete.

Pull the engine for a complete repaint (strip existing paint, prime and repaint)

Install correct upper alternator bracket

Install correct date code 1100834 Delco Alternator

Install American Autowire engine & light harness

Install correct power steering pump (one year only design)

Install correct RC-15 rad cap

Install correct date code 7029215 Quadrajet Carb

Restore and install born with Delco Moraine brake booster

Install correct 5468309 master cylinder

Install reproduction Delco 1115293 coil

Restore original Delco wiper motor

Install factory Harrison 3 core, 4 speed radiator with date code correct XJ/IA side tanks
15 hours of paint stripper and wire brushes to get it down to bare metal
Red Oxide primer coat
3rd and final coat of Chevy Orange

Installed back in the car with weathered (yellowing) pump valve. New American Auto Wire engine harness also pictured.
The factory never installed exhaust manifold gaskets back in the day... mated up with copper RTV.
